The Turnkey You've Been Looking For

How do you get the utility poles, crossarms, piling and crane mats you need? That’s been our focus since 1916. From the beginning, we recognized the importance of being a vertically integrated operation. The value we can offer by having a dependable supply, an efficient manufacturing process, strategic locations, a reliable delivery network and a dedicated team that understands how to make it all work for you. That’s distribution.

Supply
It starts with trees. Live standing timber, much of which is from our own forestlands. All carefully managed to ensure both a never-ending supply and the continuing vitality of our precious land and water environments. The harvested trees are then taken to our peeling and storage facilities throughout North America.

Manufacturing
We supply quality. Top-quality wood utility poles, crossarms and piling to utilities throughout North America. Peeled, untreated poles are first dried and fabricated, then treated at one of our owned or contracted wood treating facilities. In each location, we use only our own employees, systems and materials so we can ensure quality and control costs. Utilizing the newest formulas and technologies allows us to offer more effective preservative treatments.

Locations
McFarland Cascade has strategically located facilities across the U.S. and Canada ready to take care of your needs. Each one is operated to meet our exacting standards.

Rail: If you’re on a rail siding and have the ability to unload railcars, this is often the most economical method of shipment. A railcar can carry between 90,000 and 150,000 pounds, depending on the type of car and the species and length of the poles.

Flatbed Truck: A flatbed truck carries 47,000 to 50,000 pounds, depending on the type of equipment, species and length of the poles. For this method, we fit the truck with steel bunks to cradle and contain the poles. You must be able to unload trucks.

Self Unloader Truck: We can unload for you at your yard or job site with a self-unloader truck. It comes with a boom, so the carrying capacity is less, usually 39,000 to 42,000 pounds, depending on the type of equipment, species and length of the poles.
